Which may very well be true, but he should honestly STFU about it and not whine like this every time Robertson is mentioned. Greenraven is acting like some sort of brilliant artist who is personally offended by Robertson. "Pauly boy himself even said he doesn't give two shits about color counts or restrictions.People's general stupidity level towards our beloved hobby annoys me greatly" "The virginity of the comic has been soiled with his tainted touch." I consider it to be aimed at a retro style, simply because when most people see pixel art, they read it as "retro".But Greenraven's personal hate against Robertson is uncalled for. The style is nice IMO, but if some folks dont like it, whatever. I'm not accusing Greenraven of not thinking the art is all too spiffy. The issue here isn't really the style of the game. Greenraven is being over the top with his senseless attacks of the style.
I have to say that Probertson's style and this game does Scott Pilgrim more justic then Michael Cera ever will. I personally think his style caters pretty well to that of the comics style.Ĭonsidering that it was a graphic novel made into a movie, and now made into a game. So arguing semantics is useless just shut up and enjoy the art or don't.Īlso I would like to state on the record that sure his style is imminently hanging over the game, but that's to be expected. It's obvious to everyone that this isn't a retro game or it would have the obvious RETRO graphic feel to it.
Pretty sure they mean that the whole idea behind SCOTT PILGRIM is that it's being a throw back at the 8-bit arcade scene. I don't see how anyone here is bickering about the relation to 8-bit and 16-bit. Including some of the "effects" themselves are non-pixel art.īut that doesn't make this any less awesome. The game clearly uses some obvious NPA elements such as glow and shiney reflections. Okay, okay lets clear the air here, this shouldn't be a discussion about Proberton's style.
